Buddy Stubbs An “Arizona Bike Week Hero”
Official Arizona Bike Week Event
Buddy Stubbs was literally born into a life of motorcycles. Buddy’s parents owned a Harley-Davidson® dealership in Decatur, Illinois and Buddy “rode” before he walked. His mother gave birth to him in his parent’s dealership and he lived there, sleeping in a drawer, until they could afford a crib. He started riding at the age of ten and won his first race at age 11. He went on to win many races, including the Daytona 100 in 1963.
After a long, prestigious career of motorcycle racing and Hollywood stuntman, Buddy took over what was at the time the only Harley-Davidson® dealership in the Valley. Under Buddy’s expert guidance, the long time struggling store rose to enormous success. Though five other Harley-Davidson® dealerships now reside in the greater Phoenix area, Buddy Stubbs remains the only dealer within the Phoenix city limits. He has been our Phoenix Harley dealer for 46 years. In addition to his Phoenix location, Buddy has a second store in Anthem. Buddy Stubbs continues to own and operate the business with the help of his two sons, Frank and Jack. They have built a strong reputation in the local biker community based on their commitment to quality and customer service.
Buddy’s story is a fascinating one. Join us in the HandleBar Saloon as we recap Buddy’s adventures and successes. We are honored to pay tribute to Buddy Stubbs, a true Arizona Bike Week hero.

Quiet Riot in Concert
Official Arizona Bike Week Event
The story of Quiet Riot begins in 1980 when Kevin DuBrow formed a new band under his own name, working with Frankie Banali and a variety of musicians over the next few years before signing with Pasha/CBS Records, reverting back to the Quiet Riot moniker, and entering the studio with new guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Chuck Wright to start work on a new album. The year was 1982 and, following Randy Rhoads' well-documented death, former henchman Rudy Sarzo left Ozzy, replacing Chuck Wright who is the bass player on record for both the "Metal Health" and "Don't Wanna Let You Go" tracks, to complete the lineup and sessions for what would become 1983's Metal Health. "Cum on Feel the Noize," stormed up the U.S. charts, duly reaching the number one spot and going platinum five times over in the process. The sales of Metal Health has now exceeded the 10 million mark worldwide.
Quiet Riot continues their historic journey in 2012 with Metal Health founding member Frankie Banali who is joined by veteran bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi from their most stable lineup. In 2010 they announced addition of vocalist Mark Huff to the lineup. They are a rock & roll phenomenon. Famously described as the first heavy metal band to top the pop chart at #1 on Billboard magazine, the Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to their monster 1983 smash album Metal Health.
So Cum on Feel the Noize, as they rock the HandleBar Saloon with all their greatest hits:

**Cum On Feel the Noize**
**Slick Black Cadillac**
**Mama Weer All Crazee Now**

Official Arizona Bike Week Event
HARDRIDE’s sound can be described as Rock and Roll with Southern Warmth, Classic Rock Integrity, and a Youthful Edge. What really defines HARDRIDE is the chemistry of all its parts put together. All four members sing and play in harmony with a united sense of purpose. Audiences quickly become hooked because this band has fun on stage. HARDRIDE has an appeal to a wide age demographic. They play old songs as if they are fresh and new. At the same time, their original music somehow feels as familiar as an old pair of jeans.

“Tribute to Excellence” - Dave Perewitz
Official Arizona Bike Week Event
Location:
Handlebar Saloon @ Cyclefest
Event Description: In the world of custom motorcycle fabricators, there are people who are well-liked and people who are respected. Only a few are both, and among them, even fewer are acknowledged as deans of their industry. Dave Perewitz is a member -- many would say a leader -- of that very elite group.
As for why he's so respected, five minutes of viewing -- and riding -- one of his custom creations will tell you everything you need to know. Custom-fabricated motorcycles are a delicate blend of engineering, design, aesthetics, performance, power, personality and beauty, and Perewitz is a master at giving each element its due. When you cruise the streets on a Perewitz custom motorcycle, it is beyond doubt, “Art in Motion”.
Born and raised in the Boston area, Dave’s passion for motorcycles wasn’t handed down as a family legacy. His fascination for shiny objects that were fast and loud started as a typical teenage boy’s worship of cars. Then in 1967, he bought his first bike, a 1964 Harley-Davidson Sportster and he was hooked.
He learned his art from trial and error. To gain experience Dave would often do jobs for free for his friends and riding companions. Perewitz is a self taught designer, mechanic, painter, and fabricator.
Starting from a humble 12 x 12 shed, Perewitz Cycle Fabrication has grown to one of the country’s premiere custom motorcycle shops. Today with over 30 years experience building and customizing motorcycles Dave still owns and operates his Bridgewater Massachusetts store, where he creates one-of-a-kind, hand-built choppers that are as comfortable and reliable as they are beautiful.
Dave has made many television appearances over the years, including the Biker Build Off Series in 2003. The show has aired numerous times on the Discovery Channel. He has graced the covers and inside pages of all the major motorcycle magazines. He has been inducted into both the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and National Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame and received the Life Time Achievement Award from Easyriders Magazine. He’s been a spokesperson for Allstate on motorcycle safety. He has authored two books. His list of accomplishments goes on and on.
We are honored to pay tribute to Dave Perewitz at Arizona Bike Week 2012.
Fri. Mar. 30th, 9:00 PM - REO Speedwagon in Concert in the HandleBar Saloon
Presented By Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson
Official Arizona Bike Week Event
Formed in 1967, signed in 1971 and fronted by iconic vocalist Kevin Cronin since 1972, REO Speedwagon has – for decades – been a confounding blend of consistency and change.
They rode in station wagons, going from tiny gigs to even tinier gigs, just to get the REO name out in the early days. Later they rode the top of the charts. REO Speedwagon has 22 million albums sold in the U.S., 40 million around the globe and a string of gold and platinum records and international hit singles. The 9-times certified Hi Infidelity remains a high-water mark for rock bands.
REO Speedwagon has that Midwest work ethic. Sure, you can call them rock stars but if you have to label them, the more accurate term they prefer is “Working musicians”. The band has gone onstage and in the studio and done the work, year after year – dozens of albums, hundreds (thousands?) of concerts, infinite radio spins. The eyes have always been on the future and on the road – not a year has gone by where they didn’t perform live.
REO Speedwagon has been packing the arenas for the last thirty plus years and tonight they’re ready to rock the riders with all their classic anthems:
**Ridin’ the Storm Out**
**Take it on the Run**
**Keep on Loving You**
**Can’t Fight This Feeling**
**Roll With the Changes**
**Time for Me to Fly**

TESLA formed in Sacramento, CA in 1984. They hit the LA music scene, quickly scored a recording contract and recorded their debut album “Mechanical Resonance” in 1986. TESLA is a multi-platinum-selling rock band from Northern California known for their melodic songs and down to earth appeal. Thanks to their die-hard, loyal fan base and their younger generation offspring, they continue to tour to sold-out crowds around the world.
Their current line-up consists of four of the original members: vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarist Frank Hannon, bassist Brian Wheat, and drummer Troy Luccketta and new guitarist Dave Rude, who has brought a new energy and creativity to the band. They have fourteen albums to date, with sales of over 14 million.
TELSA spearheaded the acoustical craze of the 90s with their “Five Man Acoustical Jam” and have recently just come off an acoustical tour. But the bikers like it amped up, hard and loud! So for Arizona Bike Week they’re gonna be wired!

Sun. April 1st, 4:00 PM - On stage in the HandleBar Saloon - TNT
Official Arizona Bike Week Event
The members of TNT are seasoned musicians that have played in almost every capacity over their careers. In the year 2000, because of the fan reaction to AC/DC music whenever it was included in their sets, the idea to form a Tribute Band developed. From the beginning the standard was set high to form a tribute to AC/DC not just by playing only AC/DC songs and having the guitar player running around in a schoolboy suit, but to create a whole concert experience & recreate the "exact" look, feel and excitement of an AC/DC concert. It’s been tagged a "SUPER" Tribute Show, complete with detailed costumes of ALL members, exact instruments, pyrotechnics and stage show. Their repertoire includes all of the best material from both the Bon Scott and the Brian Johnson eras. For the past decade, TNT has generated excitement and won thousands of fans by capturing the raw power of the legendary band.
The TNT “AC/DC Experience” is an incredible reproduction of a concert performance of the band AC/DC capturing the raw power and excitement of the legendary band. This is the final concert of Arizona Bike Week 2012. Join us in the HandleBar Saloon, as we close it out in style with TNT!!
